French Bistro Traditions Every Monday and Thursday
À Poêle French Bistro welcomes 2026 with two weekly seafood celebrations bringing authentic French bistro traditions to Quarry Bay. Oyster Mondays and Mussel Thursdays offer dedicated evenings for seafood enthusiasts, each featuring 60 minutes of free-flow service within three-course dinner formats. The new year programmes honour French coastal café culture, where oysters and mussels form the foundation of convivial evening gatherings.
The approach balances accessibility with authenticity. Rather than positioning seafood as occasional luxury, À Poêle creates regular opportunities to experience French bistro seafood culture at HK$388 for oysters and HK$348 for mussels. These prices reflect the bistro's commitment to wallet-friendly European dining whilst maintaining quality ingredients and proper French preparations.
Oyster Mondays: Sixty Minutes of Coastal Tradition
Every Monday from 5pm to 10pm, À Poêle serves three-course dinners at HK$388 featuring 60 minutes of free-flow seasonal oysters. Walk-ins are welcomed, acknowledging that Monday seafood cravings often emerge spontaneously rather than through advance planning.
Starters present four options: Soup of the Day, Salad of the Day, Charcuterie and Cheese, or Selection of Seasonal Oysters with lemon, cocktail sauce, and mignonette sauce. Main courses offer three bistro classics: Merguez Sausage Orecchiette with spiced lamb sausage, chilli, peppers, and sage; Duck Confit with Puy lentils, mash potatoes, and veal jus; or Mushroom Risotto with Parmesan and truffle oil.
The 60-minute free-flow oyster service runs throughout the meal. Guests can order oysters alongside mains, between courses, or whilst lingering over wine, honouring French café culture where oysters accompany conversation rather than arriving as single rushed courses. Desserts include Chef's Dessert or Ice Cream (one scoop) at HK$35 add-on, with menu pricing including 10% service charge.
Mussel Thursdays: All-You-Can-Eat Bistro Classic
Every Thursday from 5pm to 10pm, À Poêle serves three-course dinners at HK$348 featuring 60 minutes of free-flow mussels in choice of three French preparations. Advance booking is essential, as Thursday's format requires kitchen preparation that walk-in service cannot accommodate.
Starters span Soup of the Day, Salad of the Day, or Charcuterie and Cheese. The main course presents 60 minutes of free-flow mussels in three classic French preparations: Meunière with traditional white wine, thyme, parsley, and butter; Provençal with Mediterranean tomatoes, olives, peppers, and basil for brighter, herbaceous character; or Normande showcasing northern French traditions through cream, beer, bacon, and parsley for richer, more substantial flavours.
Guests select their preparation and request additional servings throughout the 60-minute period, choosing the same style repeatedly or sampling across different preparations. Each serving arrives with French fries or grilled bread for soaking broths. Desserts follow the same HK$35 add-on structure as Oyster Mondays.
